La Shawn B. Wells has a lifelong passion for empowering the underserved. After graduating from college in 1992, he chose to advocate for abused babies in Southern California. From there he took on the task of serving the homeless, the developmentally disabled, and at risk youth.

Federal aid to cities has been shrinking since 1970. Cities have been pretty much left to fend for themselves. The bad news for voters is that it’s often confusing to figure out whether local, state or federal officials are to blame for these cutbacks.


The good news is that city government has to respond by creating ways to bring in dollars and then use those dollars for the benefit of local citizens.
